Workshop #2: Lymphatic Self-Massage
The first step in working with inflammation and the nervous system, lymphatic massage is a wonderful practice and a sister practice to soft tissue massage. It addresses downregulation of the sympathetic nervous system (the fight or flight response), allows all of the musculoskeletal tissues to be put on slack, and allows any stagnant swelling (extracellular fluid that may be trapped in distal tissues) to be gently pumped back to the heart. I actually use this on my body in concert with an Epsom salt bath, if I have a bad day or a small injury/ wipeout. I would love to teach this to you all.
